The BBC announced Christmas and new year holiday season of programs on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, which will include ‘Death Comes to Pemberly’, an adaptation of David Walliams’ ‘Gangsta Granny’ and festive editions of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’, ‘The Great British Bake Off’ and ‘Call the Midwife’.

The biggest excitement revolves around Sherlock and how his death was faked after the second series ended on a high note in January 2012. Steven Moffat, the showrunner said that there was a clue which was missed by everyone after Holmes’ standoff with Moriarty. The puzzle will finally be solved after two years.

Ben Stephenson, the BBC’s controller of drama commissioning said, “The Christmas episode is heartbreaking and wonderful, a glorious farewell to Matt and an absolutely extraordinary arrival of our new doctor.” ‘The Great British Bake Off’ Christmas Special will be presented by Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood. On the show, the pair will be offering free tips for a stress-free Christmas.
