UK Today News: Raoul Moat Dead – Moat Kills Himself After Six Hour Stand Off With Police in Northumberland
The 37 year old fugitive, Raoul Moat, who was loose almost a week and had killed three people, shot himself in the fields of Rothbury in Northumberland and was pronounced dead at 0220 BST on Saturday. According to the Police, there were no shots fired by the Police, as they were trying to negotiate with Moat, after rounding him up near a river in Rothbury after a week long man-hunt.
According to the eyewitnesses present on the scene, it looked like Moat lied down, pointed the gun on himself and shot. On the other hand, reports say that people could hear both the Police and Moat talking, and the Police trying to confront him.
One of the witnesses, who doesn’t want to be disclosed, stated a shocking point that he heard from Moat, he said that he had heard something that has struck his mind, before dying, Moat had said, ‘I don’t have a Dad….’ and ‘Nobody cares about me’. It was only after they had heard a gunshot, when the police started to yell out, ‘Put the Gun Down!!’. When the paramedics reached on the spot and took him to the Newcastle General Hospital, they had pronounced him dead.
