UK Today News: Toasted Skin Syndrome – A Possible Risk For Frequent Laptop Users?

Toasted Skin Syndrome is the latest talk in town that laptop users should be cautious of. A new study by Swiss researchers warn that working on a laptop, by continuously placing it on your lap, can result in you suffering from this syndrome soon.

Researchers suggest that laptop users use cooling pads to avoid Toasted Skin Syndrome

The researchers suggest that you should keep a heat shield or maybe keep a cooling pad underneath your laptop. The first symptom that one can find is the skin in that particular patch loses its colour and becomes extra sensitive. This is because of the long term heat exposure.

The research was done at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. The findings of this syndrome came in the year 2004.

Another thing that researches suggest to keep in mind is that, long term use of heating pads is harmless but it can permanently darken the skin. The researchers have not found any cancer related symptoms to the use of the laptop but it can cause damage to a greater extent.
