UK Today News: The Black Eyed Peas has successfully reached the top of the UK Singles Chart, out running singer Willow Smith this year. The American pop band beat Will Smith’s daughter Willow Smith, to take the number one position on the UK Singles chart, something remarkable in the history of the band.

Smith’s ‘Whip My Hair’ reached the number two spot on the UK chart, as Black Eyed Peas’ ‘The Time’ surpassed her song, becoming the people’s favourite in the UK. On the other hand, Take That had remained on the number one position for almost four weeks.

The Black Eyed Peas created a record by selling around 200,000 copies of their new album in just seven days. Reports state that “The Beginning” has sold more than a million copies around the world, since its release and has surpassed Lady Gaga’s album ‘The Fame’, to become the most widely sold music album this year. All artists in the first three spots have performed extremely well in the market, and it seems there was indeed some tough competition for everyone this year.
