Social networking giant Facebook is currently testing a new app which is specifically meant for celebrities. The latest app will help celebrities to manage their public persona.
Reports have revealed that the VIP-only mobile app will help celebrities to reach out to their fans, respond quickly to become a part of the conversation and also monitor feedback from their fans. Facebook has confirmed the existence of the application and said, “We are currently testing some mobile features designed to help public figures interact with their fans. We are testing these features with a small group of partners and will share more details should we roll it out more widely.”
The upcoming app will help the social network to compete with other social networking sites, such as Twitter and Instagram. It will make it easy for the fans, as well as celebrities to interact and this attracts a lot of attention and traffic. Meanwhile, Twitter is often used for celebrities to make quasi public announcements and also allows fans to reply directly to tweets using the @ sign.
The @ sign makes it easy for VIPs to gauge reactions and feedback. The social network might be popular among fans and celebrities, but it still has not established itself when it comes to providing current news.
