He died due to a stroke, this was confirmed by Rob Pistella and Steve Ferzoco his managers.

Pistella told in an interview that, Frank had a history of strokes to start with, and it was after he had attended Mother’s Day dinner with his family on Sunday and later complained, he was feeling ill.

Emergency medical services came in and rushed him to the hospital. Where later he succumbed to his pain.

He used to work on comic strips of Buck Rogers and Flash Gordon etc. And then he later moved onto doing comic books, which was in the 1950’s. He drew fame only after he created the mythical character of Conan the Barbarian and John Carter of Mars for his comic magazines and books.

In November last year, his paper back issue of Conan the Conqueror by Robert E Howard was sold for a whooping $8 million to some unnamed collector.
