40th Anniversary of Sesame Street and It’s Big Bird’s Birthday Today!

Sesame Street is all set to celebrate its 40th anniversary today!
To keep up with the festivities, Sesame Street’s website has a competition for visitors to vote for their most loved episodes from the show’s shown over 40 years.
Here are the things in store for Big Bird’s Birthday celebration:
Big Bird will appear on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’  tonight along with Joshua Jackson and Slayer.
Big Bird’s picture on Google – which is one of from the famous range of “Google Doodles” sketches to signify an important date.
Limited edition of ‘Sesame’ t-shirt  by American Apparel.
On  November 10th, there will be a  Sesame Street anniversary show, which is essentially a parade of celebrities Reports suggest that. Michelle Obama has also taped a visit to Sesame Street, and the show will also begin a new environmental series called “My World is Green & Growing”
November 10 is also all set to be known as Sesame Street Day in New York City.
D.C’s Union Station will reveal new photographs from the show while the Smithsonian will have a birthday party on November 15.

Election Day takes place every 4 years, (Tuesday after the first Monday in November), and registered voters in the United States cast their votes for presidential electors are together known as the Electoral College.
The number of electors per state is equivalent to the number in its Congressional delegation. Hence, each state has no less than three electors.
Kansas has six electors and Missouri has eleven. These electors then convene on the first Tuesday after the second Wednesday in December to elect the President and Vice-President.
Many state and local government offices are also elected on Election Day as a matter of convenience and cost saving,
Election Day is a civic holiday in some states, such as Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and West Virginia.
